If I've been extinct for 65,000,000 years, why haven't I re-evolved yet? |
Extinction is predicted by the Creation model since Creation was a one time act, not an ongoing process.
But by chance, Evolution would continually duplicate every kind of life since it is an ongoing, random process. Therefore, if Evolution is ongoing, extinction would never occur, or would only be temporary.
Estimates vary, but most agree that over 99% of all species that have ever lived are now extinct!
For a possible cause of this mass extinction see Exhibit 23 Evidence of a Global Flood. There are billions of fossils preserved quickly in sedimentary rock which is laid down in sorted layers by rapidly moving water.
