Frequently Asked Questions

Aren't there many errors in the Bible?  If so, how can I trust it to be the truth?

This is a valid question.  If the Bible is known to have serious errors, how can we be certain that it is true about the resurrection of Jesus?

I suggest that you first research the "big" claims of the Bible, then you can probably trust it for the smaller things.  For example, I was a skeptic (an atheist) and I decided that if the Bible was really "God's Word" as it claims to be, then I should be able to find evidence of the greatest miracles, Creation and the Global Flood.  I didn't focus on the miracles of Jesus because there is no way to prove today that He walked on water, or healed the sick for example.  I figured that it should be easy to see if there is evidence of Creation rather than Evolution since they are opposites.  Also I figured that if there really had been a Global Flood, there should be global evidence of this.

The commonly claimed "errors" in the Bible are usually trivial.  For example, one verse says Jesus healed one blind man as He was leaving Jericho.  Another verse said He healed 2 blind men.  So what?  Does that change the meaning of salvation or anything else important?  If He healed two, he also healed one.  The author of one of the verses mentions one of the blind men by name, and just may not have seen any importance in mentioning the other man.  Also, these may have been accounts of two different healings anyway.

Here is a site that answers many of these apparent problems in their "Bible Difficulties" section .
